Step into a calm and inspiring world through this intimate, appointment-based Sumi-e workshop, where traditional Japanese ink painting meets personal exploration and mindful practice. Guided by artist Soonhwa Kang, each session offers a gentle pause from daily life and a chance to reconnect with creativity, nature, and yourself.
Rooted in classical Sumi-e, you may work with The Four Noble Ones—bamboo, orchid, chrysanthemum, and plum blossom—or choose your own nature-inspired motifs such as flowers, birds, or landscapes. The workshop unfolds at your own pace and is carefully adapted to your experience level and interests, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced creatives.
All materials are included, and the quiet studio setting in Haarlem creates a focused yet relaxed atmosphere. Whether you come alone, with friends or family, or join an open group, this workshop offers a meditative, joyful, and deeply enriching experience. You will leave not only with your own artwork, but also with a sense of calm, inspiration, and a meaningful memory.
Private and group options are available, as well as extended sessions combining Sumi-e and Shodō (Japanese calligraphy). The workshop can also be booked as a gift voucher, making it a thoughtful and unique present.
